project

Situated on the family farm, this newly built home sits comfortably in it’s countryside surroundings.

the brief:

Our clients asked for a stylish and cosy kitchen that works for the whole family. Simplicity is essential so as not to detract from the extensive Green Oak framing of the building’s structure.

the design:

Blending effortlessly with the rural backdrop, this kitchen design stays true to it’s buildings rustic roots.

A handleless, white bulthaup kitchen with matching 60mm thick worktops provides a clean silhouette to enhances the building’s carpentry. The kitchen is set on a natural slate floor which combined with the Oak beams give this contemporary kitchen space a truly organic feel. A raised Ash breakfast bar on the island creates an all-important social hub and gives gentle screening from general kitchen chaos!

The large island has plenty of storage and also houses a Siemens induction hob and Teppan Yaki while an aluminium cased wing extractor is suspended overhead to minimise cooking smells. Behind the island a bank of tall units house the ovens, fridge and freezer. To complete this well-equipped family kitchen along run of base units extends the width of the window and incorporates a drinks fridge, dishwasher, numerous bins and further storage.

Having just completed a new build project I have dealt with over 20 suppliers, Mark at Sapphire Spaces has consistently been one of the most responsive and a delight to work with. The kitchen design process was fast (due to my timescales) but took into account everything on my wish list and more and was on budget. The resulting kitchen was installed efficiently and although there were a couple of minor issues, these were resolved swiftly. The end result is a kitchen that is beautiful to look at, fantastic to cook in, great quality and the service throughout has been outstanding. I highly recommend Sapphire Spaces and Mark in particular.
