Luxury Games Room and Cocktail Bar

Set within a small development of just seven luxury detached homes in East Devon, this striking games room and cocktail bar brings together style, comfort and a sense of fun in one beautifully designed space.

the brief

The brief for this project was to create a luxury games room and cocktail bar with a glamorous atmosphere and a sense of fun. As this is the developer’s own family home, the design had to showcase the same quality and craftsmanship that define the wider development. In addition, it needed to reflect a personal design vision. Above all, the space had to feel welcoming for family use while being impressive enough to entertain guests in style.

the design

Within this luxury detached home on the outskirts of Exeter, you’ll find a bespoke cocktail bar and games room designed for evenings of mixology, relaxation, and fun. Walnut cabinetry, brass accents, and velvet seating create a glamorous cocktail lounge atmosphere. As a result, the room blends comfort with sophistication.

The bar uses American Walnut cabinetry with Zebrano insert detailing, together with dovetail walnut drawer boxes that highlight craftsmanship. In addition, discreet LED lighting grooves provide soft backlighting and enhance the ambience. A striking antique bronze mirrored back bar with open shelving and bottle racks adds drama. It also provides ample storage for wine and spirits.

Around the bar, velvet barstools invite conversation and connection. Meanwhile, a raised bar upstand conceals cocktail preparation clutter. It also cleverly houses sockets for blenders, ice crushers, and other bar equipment. Furthermore, practicality is built in with a separate under-counter fridge and freezer for drinks and ice. A dishwasher ensures the bar can function as a fully self-contained entertaining space, independent of the kitchen.

Overhead, the ceiling features stylish acoustic slatted panelling. This not only adds a striking design detail but also provides subtle sound control to enhance the ambience of the room.

This is more than just a bar. As a combined bar and games lounge, the space includes a pool table, dartboard, and a large TV. Therefore, friends and family can gather for games or enjoy major sporting fixtures in style. By uniting handcrafted luxury with entertainment, the design delivers a space that is both practical and indulgent. In conclusion, it is the perfect setting for lively parties as well as relaxed family evenings.
