The new home for many Ercol classics

L.Ercolani is a luxury brand from the Ercol family combining classics from the 1950s with new pieces from up-and-coming designers. Henry Tadros, great-grandson of Lucian Ercolani, has taken great care to preserve the Ercol legacy when working on new collaborations.

Lucian R Ercolani was born in Italy but at a young age moved to London with his family. He studied furniture making and design, beginning his career with designers who would later form Parker Knoll and G-Plan. In 1920 Ercolani founded Ercol and grew to be one of Britain’s most significant mid-century designers.

As the new home for many Ercol classics it would be all too easy for L.Ercolani to only launch collections from their rich back catalogue of Ercolani’s designs. That however would not be true to his great-grandfather’s forward-thinking spirit, says Tadros.

From their factory and workshops in Princes Risborough the family maintains Ercolani’s philosophy of building furniture to last. They combine the very best in precision engineering with hand-crafted traditional furniture-making techniques to create past and future classics.
