Remodelled Period Home Ensuite

project

Having both grown up in Devon our clients decided to return to the area and purchased this property in 2013. The building had evolved over the years and included Georgian, Victorian, and more recent elements that didn’t always flow so, rather than rush into renovating the property, they decided to live with it for a while and get a real feel for the space.

A large bathroom space can be very difficult as there is a tendency to put product against the walls leaving a cold, empty space in the middle of the room which is often filled with a solitary freestanding bath but by creating a t-section in the room we were able to leave the original coving intact whilst bringing some clean lines into the space. The basin wall actually completes the t-shape which houses both a shower area and toilet area behind making these functional areas hidden from view when relaxing in the bath and enjoying the stunning sea views. The ceiling height of this room allowed us to create a raised bath area which softened the large floor space.
