Carl Hansen & Son’s CH56 & CH58 bar stools are one of Hans J Wegner’s later designs for the company, coming to life in 1985. Originally designed exclusively for bulthaup kitchens, the stools are now a design staple for many stylish kitchens, restaurants, and bars.
As with all of Wegner’s seating designs, the CH56 and CH58 bar stools have been created with both beauty and comfort in mind. Despite being nearly 40 years old the stools have a contemporary feel thanks to the simplicity of the rounded lines combined with a mix of wood, steel, and leather.
The solid wooden frame, held together by a metal ring, provides stability while the supportive circular metal doubles as a footrest. Padded seat cushions have just the right amount of firmness and can be upholstered in a choice of leathers.
Available with either oak or walnut legs, the CH56 bar stool is the taller of the two versions and sits at bar height. The lower, CH58 stool is more suited to kitchen counter height.
