There were some amazing new pieces at the 21st London Design Festival last week. The capital became an exciting design hub offering a diverse program of events, exhibitions and insightful talks.
Danish interior design brand Fritz Hansen partnered with fashion and lifestyle concept store Wolf & Badger on a creative installation, located in Wolf & Badger’s Kings Cross flagship store. Classic and distinctive pieces of furniture were given a new colourful lease of life, by Spanish designer and artist, Jaime Haydon.
Fritz Hansen launched the PK15 chair in their flagship showroom in the heart of Farringdon.
Celebrating their 85th year as a leading light in the design industry, Knoll introduced a unique series of Saarinen Tables with a new exclusive natural stone top. A tribute to Eero Saarinen’s Pedestal Collection, which Knoll has continuously produced since 1957.
The Spectrolite Blue is a striking granite that evokes the starry night sky, with magnificent shades of midnight and black with touches of silver and grey.
Fellow Danish design house, Carl Hansen marked the London Design Festival with the launch of the CH45 Rocking Chair by Hans J Wegner.
Comforting and organic, exquisitely crafted in oak, the Rocking Chair is a celebration of wood in its pure simplicity.
In honour of the renowned Danish author, Karen Blixen, and her country house, Rungstedlund, we saw the relaunch of the OW224 Rungstedlund table.
To commemorate Blixen's love for entertaining, the CH London team recreated part of her home in their showroom, with beautiful attention to detail. Throughout her life, Karen often held extravagant and lavish dinner parties always with an array of interesting and notable guests. No doubt these dinner parties influence her famous story, Babette’s Feast.
