Cesca Bar Stool By Knoll

Cesca Bar Stool

Designed by Marcel Breuer

At the Bauhaus, Marcel Breuer married traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods and materials to help make tubular steel furniture an international sensation and a modern institution. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, Knoll Studio developed the Cesca Chair to new heights—specifically bar and counter.

As with the icon Cesca chair, the structurally daring cantilever bar stool frame exploits the inherent strength of the tubular steel and gives the stool extra flexibility and comfort. His 1928 Cesca design married traditional craftsmanship to industrial materials and methods. The design combines the modern-age aesthetic of a cantilevered tubular steel frame with a seat and back made of user-friendly wood and caning, or fully upholstered.   The Cesca adapts to virtually any environment, whether commercial or residential.
