Platner Lounge Chair by Knoll

Platner Lounge Chair

Designed by Warren Platner

In 1966 the Platner Collection captured the “decorative, gentle, graceful” shapes that were beginning to infiltrate the modern vocabulary of the time. The pieces are created by welding hundreds of curved steel rods to circular frames, simultaneously serving as structure and ornament. Platner designed the chair to be ‘one thing’, starting with the floor, the structure gradually comes up to envelope and support the sitter.

Made from vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge forming rods, a moulded fibreglass shell and foam cushion; cushion attaches to seat with Velcro. Frame available in bright nickel or painted bronze metallic.

Dimensions: Width: 95cm x Depth: 65cm x Height: 77cm, Seat Height: 48cm
